A Country Mile

Life In The Country
Series #10

Here we are again this week, heading into the country for some decorating inspiration and fun fiction!

**For those new to my blog, you will need your imagination....oh and....your wellington boots!**

What a wonderful Christmas and New Years break I had.
So much turkey, so much champagne, so many gifts.  So wonderful.

Creating Entry

This week I will be viewing my new beautiful 300 acre property I just purchased this week in Ireland.

Adare Manor, Ireland

Livestock on the property are sheep and horses.

I am very excited to take a tour for the first time
and of course so glad I have all my blog pals with me to break the new place in.

So I have packed up my bags and off I go.

Accompanying me is my life long friend and financial advisor.
He just simply goes by the name of Ocean.

What a very charming gentleman
and lucky for me he always keeps a sharp eye on my financial assets.
He is so very handsome, and sometimes it is difficult to stay focused when we discuss business.
Would you believe he has asked me to marry him 11 times....I am still thinking on it.
Sigh....what's a girl too do!

As my usual routine when I first arrive on my estates I take a relaxing soak.

House to Home

House to Home

What I love the most, a small reading room just off the master bedchamber.
I could spend many an hour here.

You are going to love this sweet little hidden passage way,
..you can only find this kind of treasure in an older house!

Goes directly into a few lovely lounging areas.

I'm excited to take a stroll around the local village.

Like what I bought?

You can never have enough perfume and flowers.

The house is quiet now. My guest will be arriving soon.
This might be a good time to relax with a book and a cup of tea.

As my guest started to arrive, they were all impressed with the beauty of my new home.

Fontainebleau

We headed into the diningroom for dinner.

After a pleasant evening of laughing, chatting and an intense game of chess,
the guests retired to their quarters.

Of course, with all the excitement of a new home,
I had to take one last tour before I retired for the evening.

And a little swim.

Thanks for the trip, especially appreciated on this icy, snowy, blowy, cold day in Michigan. Love the pictures of the flowers and books together - two of my favorite loves :)

Your pictures are lovely, but dear grandpa didn't tell me he had sold our ancestral home. Seriously, my grandmother's maiden name was Adair. I've always wanted to go to Ireland and look for relatives.

Hi Diane!!!
Oh my, 11 proposals??? But then you don't want to appear too desperate do you?
I love your new home! The tour was lovely. I will have to bring my scooter to help me walk all those long halls, but then I'd be sitting in each lovely room to enjoy the beauty, so maybe I'd be able to keep up! And a dip in that pool would be marvelous...hope it's heated!
Thanks so much for linking up with my party last week! I'm just now catching up with everyone!
Blessings, Doni
