The Lonely Bride

I was out and about today stalking the thrifts stores.
These days I am looking mainly for pretty tea cups, tea pots....anything pretty really.

When I came across this beautiful vintage bridal gown and veil.

She was hanging on the wall, set aside from the main clothing area.
She looked so lonely.  Why wasn't she with the other wedding dresses??

I stood there wondering how this beauty found its way to the thrift store.
What was the history behind this dress, did the marriage break down?
I was enchanted.  I was mesmerized.

I must have been standing there a good 10 minutes, just staring at it.

My daughter was also shopping with me.
When finally she met up with me, she also took pause.
We both stood standing there looking at this gown.
She turned to me and said, "she looks like a lonely bride".

I knew right then and there this lovely gown was coming home with me.
I do so love bridal dresses.

What I will do with it, I don't have a clue.
Maybe I will have it dry cleaned and sell it on Kijiji or Craigslist??

Isn't she enchanting?

Diane
