I mentioned last week that we are buckling down for our upcoming summer trip to Europe.
Saving money or no saving money, I still buy fresh flowers every week.
Have been buying fresh flowers weekly since I was 20.....it's tradition!
Before I would have spent $20....no problem.
These days......I"m looking for reduced flowers.
Bingo.
This weeks flowers I paid $5.00, they were "day olds".
A very sweet bouquet of flowers.
Little brown around the edges, here and there....but I don't care!
I separated the bouquet and spread them around the house.
This little set went into the washroom.
While the rest of the bouquet graced my living room in a pretty vase.
I took a few roses and a few pretties from my china cabinet, and grabbed my camera.
Flowers are so wonderful to photograph.
Love the smell of fresh roses, it's always nice for a day or two.
All in all, I think economics is a very beautiful thing!!

Such a pretty colour. They look so good with the china.
Pretty pink roses. What a nice thing to do for yourself. I only buy myself flowers on my birthday since no one else does. Which reminds me, I need to call the florist...I think I want yellow this year.

Love that roses. They are so beautiful.

I love this idea, and really should buy fresh flowers more often. I'm hoping to plant a cutting garden full of wonderful flowers this summer.
Fresh flowers really add a great touch to any home. Your roses are beautiful even if they are second day.
Ann
Beautiful roses and beautiful china, how can you go wrong?! Happy weekend.

Hi Diane, What a wonderful post! I did a post this morning featuring a pink tea. You know what was missing? Fresh roses, girl I need to go buy some. They add so much and yes they photograph so lovely! I think I need to learn from your example and buy fresh flowers. I love them, but rarely do.
Hugs,
Jann
Gorgeous photos Diane. I love the teacups and plates with roses on them too. Very pretty and thrifty post! Have a great weekend. Hugs, Pamela
I love your fresh roses. Love your china too. Pat
Hi Diane,
Beautiful roses, such a pretty pink! I just picked up some of the same plates today...the ones with the pink roses they are so sweet!
All the Best,
Christine
What a lovely tradition! I am inspired!
Happy Pink Saturday!
Hi Diane - they are lovely - fresh flowers always lift spirits. I often buy "day olds" - with roses, if you just remove the outer petals that are browning - they look like a full price bouquet!
Well! I'ld sure like to know where to get a deal like that! $5!? Wow! :)
These pictures are so beautiful. I'm with you. I love to have a fresh bouquet ever week or so. I don't care if it comes from the back yard or the Florist. :)
Thank you for joining in for FCF and sharing this pretty post! :)

Oh, that is the most lovely economics lesson I have ever received. Thank you! :) Gorgeous pics, but the way.
How nice you have kept up the tradition of fresh flowers all through the years. Even through hard times... those little special things mean more.
So pretty!! Have a beautiful pink Saturday, enjoy!

What a beautiful post - flowers, dishes and photos.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Your flowers are lovely no matter what the cost. What is the saying? A rose is a rose by any other name. Even if it's called economics. Thanks for sharing.
How nice that the bouquet of roses was enough to have in more than one room. The pink roses on your china and the the real ones have created a soft look for your post.
Hi Diane,
nice idea to treat yourself with roses. They look so pretty and the photos are an eye candy. So you have a lot of fun in each room for less money. Thank you for sharing this fun with us.
Best greetings, Johanna
Hi Diane,
I can't resist roses either. I find they look charming with their browned petals too. Is there anything more beautiful or graceful than a rose? Lovely photos of your roses and rose inspired china! Thank you for your lovely post.
Blessings,
Sandi
