Going Coastal

Yesterday we enjoyed a beautiful warm and balmy day.

I couldn't help thinking of the beach.

I was craving the water, the sand and what the heck, even a seagull or two.

I was going a little coastal yesterday for the coast.

Of course I live no where close to either the Atlantic or the Pacific Ocean,
however I do live very close to the majestic Lake Huron.

In the summer, you will almost always find us hanging around the sunny beaches of the lake.

Does it mean you are coastal if you miss the water so much, you start thinking change the house decor to all blue?

Then I can call my house a beach house!

Maybe I should start shopping for beach umbrellas, beach towels and an inflatable water mattress.

My beach house will have rooms that are beyond gorgeous.

Maybe have a lighthouse closeby.... or two.

Yes, indeed I am loving my new coastal beach house.

So if anyone else is feeling a little coastal, just come on over for a glass of ice tea.

Don't forget your sunscreen!

The two things we miss the most after our move to Alberta is the beach and the lush, green landscape. I loooove the beach!

Hi Diane,
You can call your home anything you want too..Beach House sounds great to me, and I'll be right over for that cold tall glass of ice tea.
I loved your post!

Me too! It is 18 degrees here right now. Still not warm enough for the beach but my hubby and I are itching to get out there and wiggle our toes in the sand!
It won't be long now. Being an Islander, I get to the beach whenever I want once June arrives. The lake sounds lovely too! Wonderful pictures you've shared today.

Blessings,
Sandi

I love the chairs covered in the shell fabric, and the lighthouse bedding is just lovely.
I long to live by the sea, I was brought up in a coastal town and I miss the beach. Instead we live at one of the furthest points inland, lol. Still on our tiny island it doesn't take long to get to the coast.

Did you see Paul had been looking at the site you recommended on my blog. It looks like he is planning a visit.

I AM going coastal. We are in the market for a beach home (just for get-aways) and I am so inspired by your photos. Where we live there is such a heavy influence of Mexican beach decor. It's beautiful, but I want something different. Never thought of using red, white and blue. I'm going back to study these pictures more. I have so many ideas picked out on Pinterest and now I may need to wipe the slate clean. You've given me such fresh ideas! Thanks!!

On the shores of Lake Erie here :) I grew up next to the Pacific and have longed for that "beach house" feel forever. It's pretty hard to translate into a suburban cookie-cutout tho...lol

I'm going to refer to my place as the "Lake House" from now on. You've provided some gorgeous eye candy today. Minus the annoying Keanu Reeves.

I love the look of a coastal-inspired room, but don't have a single one in my house. Getting down to the shore is one of my greatest pleasures - perhaps it's time to bring a little bit of the shore home - to a little powder room, perhaps.
