Now that I am slowing down my life some,
I move my thoughts over to the actual act of moving.
I am in the market to purchase a pretty little hobby farm, but that is going nowhere at the moment.
I check real estate listings each week and it gets a little discouraging when nothing new comes on the market.
My friend Lynn over at The Vintage Nest
mentioned to me that it took them a year to find the farmette that they were looking for.
These words encourage me when I think I will never find anything I like,
or remotely close to liking anything in my price range.

Anyway, back to my thoughts about moving.
As
I mentioned I live in a small condo. Of late I have been feeling the smallness of this condo.
Also, this condo faces out onto a busy street and can get quite noisy at times.
Also, this condo faces out onto a busy street and can get quite noisy at times.
I have been thinking of moving into another rental for quite some time.
Something quieter.
A cute sidesplit located in a cute and quiet area of town.
I move in December 1.
One thing I am not too thrilled about it that is only a temporary rental and it comes fully furnished.
One thing I am not too thrilled about it that is only a temporary rental and it comes fully furnished.
So I can't think of doing any painting or any kind of changes in this house.
I feel a little limited to how I can decor this place to mark it mine.
And because it is already furnished, I can only bring in a few selected furniture of my own.
As it is I have way too much furniture.
I already have two, yes two, storage units full of my treasures.
Sometimes I think I have just too much stuff! Yikes. Time for a yard sale maybe or a Kijiji blitz!!
Anyway, I really am okay with it being a temporary thing.
And seriously I have already started to collect and list somethings in my Etsy Shop
The bigger furniture is going up for sale in Kijiji or Craigslist.
I am aggressively saving. My goal is too purchase new furniture for the new home I am buying.
I hope to moved into my new farmette this coming spring or summer.
I like this saving goal of mine and have no problem with saving for something down the road.
I am a woman who lives for today, but can happily wait and save for a very near future change.
Am I being an oddball in saving to buy furniture and other things for my future forever home?
I know I can buy them now, but I want to wait until I buy and move into my new little farm.....makes it more special I guess. Does anybody else do this?
So there you have it, my new digs starting next month.
I have a few decorating ideas in mind....maybe a white slipcover for that livingroom sofa.
A couple of area rugs here and there.
I don't worry about it too much, I will add my own decorating touch to this rental in no time!

Good luck with the move. It will be hard to sell/store your own possessions. Not sure if I could live with someone else's furniture. It will be interesting to see how you make out.
Oh I hope you find your farm soon!
blessings, Joanne
Hope your move goes well, and I hope that you find your little farm soon!
Hi Diane,
WOW! You sure have a lot to look forward to and think about! It's true, a furnished place can be limiting, especially if it's a short rental, but you can always accessorize your little heart out! And of course, red is always a great place to start! Good luck and happy decorating!
Poppy :)
Lots of changes coming up for you. The sidesplit is cute and I hope you find a small hobby farm to your liking soon.

Great place! I think you're right to wait to buy furniture until you find the farm...you need to know room size, configuration, etc. before committing to furniture, at least in my opinion :) So exciting!!
It'll be nice for you to have a bigger place for a while. The grounds sure are pretty and I know you will add your own personal touches to make the house comfortable. Have you figured out where you'll put your Christmas tree yet? lol I think I'd wait to see what kind of house I was moving into before I sold or bought any furniture as room size, layout and windows can be so different. Start packing!
Good luck with the move. I am praying you'll settle in to this temporary little space while you wait for your dream farm.
Have a wonderful week.
Sherry
We are considering buying a little hobby farm some time next year and I can certainly see why it is difficult to find one. There seem to be so many things that i want in one, that I'm worried that it will take ages to find one for us as well. I think the key is to be patient and to be happy enough in the rental (advice more for myself than you since you seem to already know this).
