My Soul To Keep

In times of electronic information, information in a second,  an abundance of information and all the information you have ever wanted to know about anything,
one thing we have absolutely no information on is what happens to you when you die.

Scientist believe your body simply shuts down, while worshipers believe heaven waits for you when you pass on.  With either belief, there is still no concrete information, nothing factual.

When I was a young woman, 30 years ago, long, long before the time of internet, I had a friend who was going through school for medicine and health studies.  She told me that she was studying a group of some twenty people scattered around the world who had technically died and came back to life.  She said that each person went through the exact same experience.  Now keep in mind these are people located in different cities and countries across the globe and long before the internet.    The study said that all twenty people had felt and experienced all the emotions that they inflicted onto the people they had known through-out their lifetime.  They experience the same emotions that that particular person felt when you made them sad, happy or angry.  You feel what they felt.  The same study went on to say that these people who survived death, said their lives where never the same again.
They lived a more peaceful, Zen lifestyle.

Since my friend told me about this study many years ago, I have never forgotten it.  Armed with this info, I always keep it in mind when I enter into either a short or long term relationship with anyone I meet.  In a small way, maybe what they say about your life flashing before your eyes is indeed true.  But, perhaps it is not exactly a flash at all.

Is this what the Catholics believe is purgatory?  The time in-between when you die and meet your Maker.
Is this just coincidence? I don’t think so.
Is this your brain reflecting upon your life?  Could be, but how would you know the inner thoughts of other people and their feelings?
Is there truly only one answer?  Our souls.  Only our souls would be capable of such an experience.  One soul connecting with another.  One soul taking the hand of another and saying – watch and observe, look at what you did.  Good or bad.

While life is indeed one long learning experience, I think I will continue to remember this one study done a long, long time ago.
And I think, I will choose the good.

Sandy Walking Shoes

Starting My Day

Early each morning, long before the trailer park stirs to life,
I grab my walking shoes, my ipod, headphones, turn on a little bit of rock and roll,
and start a brisk walk down to the beach.

The street leading to the beach, always a beehive of cars, beach goers destine to spend the day frolicking in the sand and sun.
However this hour of the day, they are absent.

The sandy beach itself, usually brimming with swimmers is quiet and vacant.
There are a few of us early birds walking the dog, jogging or walking like myself.
I see some early morning boaters out enjoying their toy.  Eager wind surfers catching the strong breeze, sail boats gliding close behind them.

 Beautiful Scenery

The water so incredible, so beautiful.  Early in the morning, the beach is just one majestic work of art.  The shoreline is endless.  You can walk for miles, thinking of this, thinking of that.  Before you know it, you are miles away from your starting point.  The water stretches for miles and miles.  Miles away from all your worries.  Miles away from all problems and woos.
Soothing and calm.
Just me, the waves and the seagulls.

Handsome Scenery

Yes, you read it right.  Handsome as in handsome.  His house is located right on the street that leads to the water.  I pass him twice aday, once on route and again on the way back.  He is a single gentleman, I know this because he is a friend of one of my trailer friends.
He sits on his deck,  smile and waves to me.
Someday I will work up the courage and say hello, the whole time the voice in my head saying, “talk to him, say something to him”… but of course, I smile and wave back.
I think this will be the closes to a summer romance I might ever see.  Sigh.

Sandy  shoes

Water slashes on my legs, sand between my toes.  This is my walking route.  A watery, sandy walking route.  Back at home when I go for a walk, my running shoes hit the cement, once in a while I might walk through the park.  But here on the beach,  I know I am lucky, I know that soon, very soon the weather will be turning cold, the water will be turning cold and I will be back walking my old route.

But for now, as soon as my walking shoes hit the sand, they are off and I spend the rest of my walk along the sandy shore.

Patio Lanterns

Garden of Love

While I am into and enjoying the middle of my first summer at my trailer, I have been fortunate enough to have some awesome neighbours.  Good neighbours that have turned into good friends.

My neighbours, directly across from me, happen to have a pretty little garden.   Their garden just recently won the annual Trailer Park’s prize, Best Garden of the Year for a Camper in their First Year.

As I wile away the summer sun, I am lucky I have such pretty scenery to look at.

I wish I only had before and after pics, but I didn’t come onto the scene until after the "before’s"  were completed.  New trailer park residences like myself, they bought their trailer at the end of last season.  Getting a head start, they started making changes to their grounds and gardens as early as March, well before the park open its gates.  Lots of love and labour went into making the changes and according to them, the work is still in progress.  But I guess,  what garden is every truly finished.

All of our lots here at the park are fairly small, and it always amazes me how some people have creatively made use of the space they are given.  A kaleidoscope of colour, in a small area.
The pretty garden across from me is a perfect example, almost every inch has something blooming, but with enough green to make it cozy.
Lots of use of planters and containers.

My friends come up to their trailer usually mid-week and leave on the Monday or Tuesday.  But pretty much from the time they arrive, he is always working away on his grounds.  I always enjoy my visits with them, good company, good friends.  In the picture below, this is my trailer looking from theirs.

Thank you Dann and Julie for sharing these pics.
I am sure my blog friends have enjoy this little tour of your little garden of love.

Say hello to Bella and Cole.  They live at this trailer too!
